Hello there!

I’m Rachel! I am a pattern designer, quilter, sewist, and outdoors-woman. I live in Minneapolis, MN with my husband and my baby boy! When I’m not sitting at my sewing machine, you can usually find me on a bike or baking in the kitchen.

Up until the end of 2021, I worked as a Civil Engineer. Leaving that career behind and pursuing a joy-filled life was one of the hardest and best decisions I have ever made, and Sew Joyful Studio was born from that space. The joy that I get from sewing is unmatched, and my hope for Sew Joyful Studio is that I can use it to spread a little bit of that joy to others.

What is a small way that I bring joy into my creative space? Creating with fabulous floral fabrics! Whether it be a quilt, a fanny pack, a tote bag… you name it, I want to try making it!

I love pattern design. I believe that anyone can create something handmade. It's not just for those of us who call ourselves “artists” or “quilters” or “makers”… It's for you! Wherever you're starting from! And I want to help you let go of perfectionism, embrace your giddy side, and get creative!

Thank you for joining me here - I hope it brings you a little piece of joy.
